How to add BlogPatrol to Blogger Beta templates
BlogPatrol members have reported problems with installing new BlogPatrol counters (or moving existing BlogPatrol counters) to the new Blogger Beta templates. Usually, the problem is that the BlogPatrol counter no longer appears at all in the new template. Other users of BlogPatrol are getting error messages from Blogger Beta. To fix this problem, please follow the instructions provided below.
Instructions for inserting BlogPatrol counter code into Blogger Beta (BB) templates:
1. Select your BlogPatrol counter code from the Retrieve Counter Code link in your BlogPatrol control panel.
(Click inside the code box. Point-and-click on the commands from your File Menu -> Edit -> Select All. If you prefer using the keyboard, press the CTRL key and the letter A at the same time.)
2. Copy it to the clipboard.
(Either point-and-click on the File Menu -> Edit -> Copy commands, or press the CTRL key and the letter C at the same time.)
3. Login to Blogger Beta.
4. From the Blogger Beta dashboard, click on the Layout link for your blog (the link may also say Template on some dashboards).
5. On the Add and Arrange Page Elements page, click on the Add a Page Element link.
6. On the Choose a New Page Element window that pops up, click on the ADD TO BLOG link for an HTML/Javascript element.
7. Now paste the BlogPatrol counter code in the Content section of the Configure HTML/Javascript popup window.
(Either point-and-click on the File Menu -> Edit -> Paste commands, or press the CTRL key and the letter V at the same time.)
8. Entering a "title" such as "BlogPatrol Free Blog Counter" is optional.
9. Press the Save Changes button to add BlogPatrol to your blog.
Additional information is available on the Blogger in Beta help pages. Thanks to all the BlogPatrol members who alerted us to this change with Blogger, especially to Musings at Fairhaven.
